Preparation and characterization of the poplar micro-nano cellulose sustainable carbon spheres

In this study, cellulose extracted from the factory waste poplar was converted into value-added carbon spheres by means of hydrothermal carbonization (HTC). Oxygen-rich functional group with smooth morphology, good dispersibility, controllable particle size, high content, and calorific value were prepared under various process conditions. The optimum conditions for obtaining shape temperature 250 ℃, time 12 h, dosage 1 g. Under these conditions, produced microspheres exhibited surface, dispersion, uniform particles. Fourier transform infrared spectrometer (FTIR), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), elemental analyses indicated that content as ~ 75% increasing time, theoretically calculated higher heating values (HHV) 29.4 MJ/kg. addition, H/C O/C ratios quite different relative to raw materials. This demonstrates underwent dehydration, decarboxylation, demethylation during form oxygen-rich groups.
